Bay of Fires 2011

15th February 2012

Elegant and austere, with a slight sweetness that covers for some tart, steely acids. Bright, floral aromas of fresh pear, apple blossom, orange and lime juice reveal almost muscat-like scents of tea leaves. It’s long and crystal-clear, with some juicy apple/pear/white peach fruit underpinned by a slightly raw cut of phenolics, finishing with just a hint of greenness.

Leasingham Bin 7 2011

15th February 2012

Elegant, stylish and very intense, this long, chalky riesling has a penetrative scent of white flowers, lime juice and minerals lifted by a whiff of blossom. It’s fine and gentle, with an intense core of lemon, lime and apple-like flavour that extends long down the palate towards a fresh finish of lingering fruit plus a hint of sweetness balanced by a brittle acidity.

Leasingham Classic Clare 2007

15th February 2012

An exceptional wine of benchmark standard now developing smoky, toasty, buttery, waxy and oily complexity. It’s heady, vibrant and deeply scented with lime, lemon meringue, pastry-like notes over strong floral aromas. Long and shapely, clearly defined by its acidity and fine underlying phenolics, it presents a sumptuous expression of fruit and is charmingly placed between youth and development.

Houghton Wisdom 2010

7th February 2012

An excellent, complete cabernet almost of flagship quality. A heady perfume of almost pinot-like intensity reveals sweet blue and red flowers, piercing notes of small black and red berries and dark cherries knit with fresh cedar/vanilla/chocolate and faintly gamey oak and backed by nuances of dried herbs.
